ROBERT OWEN holds an eminent position in Australian art, with a career spanning six decades. His work consistently emerges from a curious observation of the world. In the early stages of his career, Owen gained acclaim for his unique poetics, marked by an intuitive exploration into the expressive possibilities within space, light, and the ephemeral moment. Over the years, he has played a formative role in the development of shaping Australia’s major arts education and institutional structures. Simultaneously, Owen has maintained a prolific output, engaging fluently in sculpture, installation, painting, photography, and undertaking major public commissions.
