PETER CALLAS has worked in the fields of film, video art and animation for over two decades. Few artists in Australia have remained so committed to new media and digital technologies as Peter Callas.  An Honours graduate of the University of Sydney and a graduate of the Sydney College of the Arts, Callas worked with sculpture, painting, print-making and film during the 1970s before embracing video in 1980 and digital media in 1984.  

Peter Callas is regarded as one of Australia's most influential multi-media artists, exhibiting in museums and institutions worldwide.  He is represented in the permanent collections of numerous major museums, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Kunstmuseum, Bonn; the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra; and the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne.
