📍Wollongong Art Gallery
📆 Exhibiting until 21 June, 2026.
JACKY REDGATE's work, 'Flowers and Frolics #7', is currently being exhibited at Wollongong Art Gallery as part of their exhibition, 'The Architecture of Feeling'.
The work was also shown in the 2025 Wollongong Art Prize and was then acquired by the gallery.
REDGATE's 'Flowers and Frolics #7' is one of her series of photographs that stage playful, hallucinatory scenes using Mylar mirror—a reflective polyester film that warps and distorts reflections. Carefully composed still life flower arrangements featuring common household blooms such as gerberas, roses, poppies, irises, and sunflowers are paired with kitschy vases, ceramic figurines, and vegetables. These objects are arranged on gleaming, patterned fabrics and lace doilies across tabletops, resulting in surreal displays that hover between domestic charm and optical illusion.
