GUO JIAN's work in included in a curated group show titled Heavy Artillery at White Rabbit Gallery from 9 March to 7 August 2016. The exhibition explores acts of defiance in the context of the past three decades of explosive social change in China.

Congratulations to JANET LAURENCE, SAM SHMITH and IMANTS TILLERS for being shortlisted in the Fleurieu Art Prize! The Fleurieu Art prize recognises the importance of landscape as a subject for art, and it is now valued at $65,000. The winner will be announced on 2 June 2016. This year the prize's exhibition will change its traditional location in the Fleurieu Peninsula of South Australia to the Anne & Gordon Samstag Museum of Art in Adelaide.

Janet Laurence, H2O: Water Bar
JANET LAURENCE’S new immersive installation H2O: Water Bar at the Paddington Reservoir Gardens, Sydney, is attracting a lot of press. The H2O: Water Bar serves water from different parts of Australia, highlighting how the different tastes and qualities are affected by location and environmental factors. Besides the Bar is a series of screenings, performances and discussions to extend the conversation about the protection of this natural resource.

JANET LAURENCE has created an apothecary or laboratory-style installation for Sydney's H2O: Water Bar. This installation reflects on - and asks us to reflect on - our relationship with water.
H2O: Water Bar will be open from Saturday 13 February 2016 through to the end of the month in Paddington's Reservoir Gardens.

The painting exemplifies the strength of Brown/Green and Cattapan’s collaborative partnership, and the confidence each of them has in their own work. It takes self assurance to allow others to access your creative processes. The artists’ rapport is evident in the unity of their composition. This coherency has a basis in their shared experiences. Although their terms as Official War Artists were not concurrent, these commissions have clearly given them a mutual sense of purpose.

DANI MARTI’s first solo show in Western Australia, Black Sun, opens at Fremantle Arts Centre this weekend. The exhibition features new and previously unshown hand-woven canvases, audio and video works, as Marti uniquely combines video and textiles to create portraits reflecting encounters with family, lovers and strangers.
The exhibition runs from 7 February to 28 March, as part of the 2016 Perth International Arts Festival.
This coming month PHAPTAWAN SUWANNAKUDT will be included in two prominent group exhibitions in Sydney.
In the still of an ordinary day is showing at Janet Clayton Gallery, this exhibition will run from 27 January - 20 February 2016.
Twenty Twenty opens 6 February to 20 February at the Old Rum Store, Chippendale. Curated by Chippendale Creative Precinct and Claudia Chan Shaw the exhibition features twenty world-renowned Asian artists displaying works that embody moments of clarity inspired by the precision of 20:20 vision.
